Departing from Tenryukyo, it takes approximately 50 min down the river. The boatman will give you a guide on the boat. You can also see them casting nets. Tenryukyo from Tsutsuji Bridge
Tsutsuji Bridge is a famous suspension bridge on Tenryukyo valley. It is also the best part of the promenade. Therefore, you need to take this bridge to complete a circuit in Tenryukyo. It is thrilling to walk on the 40 m long suspension bridge. Once you get used to the height, you will be able to enjoy the wonderful view of Tenryukyo.

Symbol of Tenryukyo: Ryukakuho
Ryukakuho is a 53 m tall gigantic rock. It is said that this huge rock was left behind when a dragon who lived in Tenryu river went to heaven. Therefore, this strange rock is said to be an incarnation of the dragon. It has became a famous symbol of Tenryukyo. You should observe how big it is when you visit here.

Great ride in winter on Kotatsu boat!
From December 1 to the end of February, kotatsu (low table covered with a futon and heated) boat runs down the river every year. You can enjoy observing the winter landscape covered in snow on a boat equipped with kotatsu, that will keep your body warm.

Hojuji
It is a zen temple situated on a hill from where you can see Tenryu river. Inside the property, there is a natural park well maintained by generations of priests. The field filled with rhododendron is amazing. The best season is from the end of April to mid May.
