Kyu-Karuizawa (Old Karuizawa)

Kyu-Karuizawa (Old Karuizawa) is a suitable place to taste the good old-fashioned atmosphere of Karuizawa. There are many long-established and traditional restaurants or shops such as Mikado Coffee, Asanoya, and France Bakery and these are familiar spots as standards. The cottage areas have rich nature and are suitable for a stroll. If you walk in a quiet atmosphere, seeing great cottages aside, time will fly soon. This area is a fusion of retro atmosphere and nature and you will have fun walking around.

This spot has a walking trail to go around in 30 minutes and is kind of an oasis in Old Karuizawa. There are azaleas and maple trees planted around the pond and many people gather here, as it's a good spot for a view of autumn leaves. The winter view is also interesting and worth visiting.
