Enjoy the festive illuminations in Roppongi, Tokyo

Come winter and Japan is lit up with various illuminations! Roppongi in Tokyo, which is popular for night city views, is also known for its Christmas illuminations. Here, we introduce the Roppongi Illuminations and how to enjoy them.

Tokyo Midtown: November 13- December 25

At Tokyo Midtown, you can see beautiful, heartwarming illuminations in the square lawn called Grass Square! In 2018, you can enjoy the dazzling lights from November 13-December 25!

The Starlight Garden covers the vast square with LEDs arranged based on the theme of "space." A special program from November 13-December 16 allows you to enjoy an illumination called Shabon-dama (soap bubble)! Bubbles and Illuminations are a new combination.

There are cute decorations spread across the Tokyo Midtown complex, so make sure to wander around and join in the festive spirit.

Tokyo Midtown is connected to Exit 8 of Roppongi Station on the Toei Oedo Line so you don't have to worry about directions or getting lost. You can also see Tokyo Tower on the bridge that connects the Grass Square and Tokyo Midtown.

Roppongi Keyakizaka: November 5 - December 25

Roppongi Hills close to Tokyo Midtown is also decked for the holiday season, we highly recommend the light up on Keyakizaka(けやき坂)!

The Keyakizaka illumination will be held from November 5 to December 25, and the illuminations at Mori Teien will be held from November 16 - December 25.
TIP Please make sure to check all the signs as it can be quite confusing to get to Keyakizaka.
