Yokocho Kimiya

(Source : 食べログ)
Located in front of the Naiku (the inner shrine) of the Ise Shrine, Okage Yokocho is a re-creation of a temple town in the Edo Period. This is one of the most popular tourist destinations in Mie Prefecture, and over 50 restaurants and souvenir shops line the street where you can enjoy delicious food and shopping. Among the many shops, we recommend the sushi restaurant called Yokocho Kimiya. The historical building that houses this restaurant is reminiscent of the Edo Period. This popular restaurant offers authentic sushi at reasonable prices featuring fresh seafood from nearby Ise Bay as well as seasonal ingredients from all over Japan.

A Wide Variety of Ingredients at Their Seasonal Peak

The restaurant attracts many customers because of the fresh ingredients. All the ingredients are carefully selected by the owner himself at a local market. They have a good selection of seasonal seafood not only from the local Ise Bay and Shima Peninsula, but also from all over the country.

Luxurious Combination Dish

We highly recommend the Ise Ebi Zanmai (5,400 yen) where you can enjoy both Mie's specialty of Ise Ebi lobster and sushi. This is a combination of freshly steamed lobster that is full of meat, Ise Ebi miso soup and exquisite nigiri sushi. You will be satisfied with this luxurious and extravagant meal.

Nigiri Sushi with Premium Kuroge Wagyu Beef

Apart from seafood sushi, Matsuzakagyu Nigiri (Matsuzaka Beef sushi - 500 yen for one piece) is also a popular item. They use Mie's premium brand of beef, Matsuzakagyu, for this sushi. It will melt in your mouth as soon as you take a bite. The juicy and sweet fat of Matsuzaka beef goes very well with the refreshing vinegar infused rice.
