Inside the History Museum in Masuoka Park, where Shiroishi Castle stands, there is not only the "history reference museum" that introduces Shiroishi Castle from different perspectives but also a 3D high-vision theater showing Shiroishi Castle's history, as well as restaurant and cafe facilities. Kabuto and yoroi (Japanese samurai armors) are not only displayed but also possible to try on.

A samurai house is along the moat that surrounds the castle. This samurai house, a former residence of the Koseki family, consists of the main building, gate and wall that were built in 1730 and its interior and garden are open for visits.

Shiroishi Castle is also known as a famous hanami spot with around 400 sakura trees blooming during spring as if to surround the castle. During the period of Shiroishi Sakura Festival held each year, Shiroishi Castle is lit up and visitors can enjoy night sakura. Apart from the sakura, plum blossoms in early spring and colored leaves in autumn are remarkable as well.

It looks like short so-men and is known to be a healthy food, as it is made only with flour and salt water without any use of oil and is easily digestible. Shiroishi umen's history dates back to about 400 years ago and in the city, there are many eateries serving umen.
