Nagai

A restaurant located in Shima hot spring resort in Gunma Prefecture, Nagai is a long-standing buckwheat noodle restaurant established in 1924. Although it is a small restaurant managed only by an old couple, it is a well-established restaurant which has a lot of fans among gourmet experts and celebrities from various fields. Customers visit from all over Japan. The secret that makes “Nagai” so special are the freshly served buckwheat noodles. The buckwheat flour is meticulously ground with a stone mill, carefully kneaded for the day every morning and cooked just before served. The restaurant is closes when it sells out of noodles, so visit as early as possible to make sure you get to eat this special soba!
