(Source : 食べログ)
Located near Kiyomizu-dera which is one of the major tour spots of Kyoto, Kyokanmi Bunnosuke-chaya Kiyomizu-ten is a sweets shop famous for its "warabi mochi (bracken starch dumplings)" made from bracken root starch. The bracken is one of the ingredients with which Japanese have been familiar for a long time. This shop's warabimochi has a distinctive texture and is mild and delicious with the slight aroma of cinnamon. Amazake (sweet fermented rice drink) handmade from malted rice is another excellent thing. They still make it in a traditional way inherited since their foundation. The shop is over 100 years old, full of Japanese taste, and popular among many foreigners.

The Specialty, Meltingly Delicious Warabimochi

Meltingly palatable Warabimochi (490 yen) with an elastic and jelly-like texture is the specialty. The fragrant flavor of kinako (soy flour) and a slight aroma of cinnamon exquisitely match it.
