The amber of Kuji is taken from the layers of approx. 5 million to 90 million years ago. That makes it the oldest amber in the world that is used on accessories. On top of that, many rare pieces of amber are exhibited that contain already endangered or extinct insects and bird's feathers. It is worth observing them closely.

In the Annex Wing of this museum, there are many hands-on programs in which you can enjoy and learn about amber. In the experience capsule, you can experience the birth of amber, known as "stone of sun" in the ancient mythology. On the diorama, you can see the city of Kuji approx. 85 million years ago. On top of that, there is a popular"Amber Lab" where you can do some experiments using amber, such as creating static electricity.
