Korakukan was built for locals to enjoy theater plays in 1910; at the time there were few entertainment options available in this area. Plays are still on from April to November; the theater is packed with audiences during this time. A theater tour to see the rotating stage system and the under-stage passage that the actors use during the play is available too. You can even try to rotate the stage or wear makeup and a costume for historical plays from December to March when no performance takes place in the theater.
