Ayatori bridge with an S-shape design is located in the middle of Kakusen-kei Yuhodou. This purple and crimson bridge with an unusual shape captures people’s eyes. This rare design, made in the shape of Ayatori, cat’s cradle, was created by a Japanese flower arrangement master.

Basho-do is located on the edge of Kakusen-kei Yuhodou, near the entrance from the Kurotani bridge. Matsuo Basho, a master of Haiku (Japanese poem) is enshrined here. It is said that Basho, surprised by the beauty of Kakusen-kei, said “Joy of travel on foot belongs here.”

Kawadoko with red bangasa, Japanese large umbrella, opens from April to October on the upper stream from Ayatori bridge. You can rest here with tasty Kagabo tea and sweets.

The whole bridge is made with Japanese cypress and was named after Korogi, Japanese name for crickets, since it can be heard in fall. You can feel the elegance of Japan from the different tastes of the four seasons. The view of Kakusen-kei, representative scenic beauty of this area & Yamanasa Onsen, from the bridge is amazing.

Yuge Street is located in central Yamanaka Onsen and there are many shops that have elegant lattice doors. Along the street, there are restaurants, pottery gallery shops of Yamanaka Shikki, lacquer ware, and Kutani Yaki and liquor stores. Since there are cafes and shops of tasty croquette, you can enjoy the walk.
