Takao, Makio and Togano are called Sanbi, and they are all famous for the leaf-viewing sites in the Northwestern part of the city of Kyoto. Jingo-ji is located halfway up Mt. Takao and is well known for its beautiful autumn foliage. The red and yellow leaves cascade down the old stone steps that leads to the temple gate. The temple halls and the tower peek through the tinted foliage.
