Gero Onsen

Located along the Hida River, Gero Onsen is one of Japan's three best onsens along with Arima Onsen and Kusatsu Onsen. At Onsenji temple which is dedicated to Yakushi Nyorai (the Buddha of healing) who is appears in the legend of shirasagi (white heron). In the evening, the autumn foliage is lit up and draws in many visitors every year.
