Kaiunzan Choso-ji (temple) is well known as the temple that was built by Minamotono Yoritomo who created Japan’s first government run by samurai. After that many historical people became closely related to this pedigree temple. The copper bell in the temple area is designated as a cultural property of Japan. This temple is also famous for cherry trees and both sides of the temple is decorated by cherry blossoms in spring.

In Juni-kyo tour, you can go around the bridges in Itako. Maekawa Course, a course where you can walk along the broad water way beside Suigo Itako Ayame Garden, and Kato-zu Course, a course where you can walk along the narrow water way beside the houses are prepared. You can enjoy the landscape of Itako from the water while looking at the warm wooden bridges which are arched or straight.

The town is filled with million Ayame of 500 breeds during Ayame Festival one of the largest events in Itako. Over 800 thousand people visit the largest festival to see the scene of gorgeous and colorful flowers bloom. During the festival, Yomeiri-fune, the ship with the Japanese bride on it, runs the water way, and you can see a beautiful bride in Shiromuku, Japanese traditional white kimono for wedding.
