Hiraizumi Noukajaya is a restaurant located near the World Heritage Site of Chuson-ji Temple featuring local cuisine from Hiraizumi, Iwate. The restaurant is run by an agricultural administrator and offers a wide variety of specialties made with local produce like mochi, udon rice-noodles, reimen cold noodles, curry, and so on. The most popular item on the menu is the “kogane mochi zanmai” (1,200 yen) which is a kind of mochi made with local organically grown rice from Hiraizumi and flavored with four different kinds of seasonings.
