Hida Soba Kofune

Situated at a 3-minute walk from JR Takayama station, Hida Soba Kofune is a long-standing soba (buckwheat noodle) restaurant, founded in 1936. This restaurant is always crowded with customers who come to try the secret soba soup, that has been passed on generation after generation since it was first founded, and the soba made of local buckwheat flour. Since the restaurant closes when there is no soba left, I recommend you not to arrive too late!

"Sansai toroname soba" (980 yen) is also very popular! It is a healthy dish made of local wild plants, grated yam and nameko mushrooms. The sticky grated yam makes the chewy soba tastier. If it is not enough to fill your stomach completely, you can also order "Komo tofu dengaku" (210 yen) that goes well with "Sansai toroname soba".
