Hakkoda Ropeway

Hakkoda Ropeway runs between Sanroku Station and Sancho-koen Station located in Mt. Hakkoda Renpo Tamoyachi with a 650-meter vertical drop in 10 minutes. Since you can look out not only at the mountain of Hakkoda, but also Aomori city, Mutsu Bay, Tsugaru Peninsula, Shimokita Peninsula and Mt. Iwaki, Sancho-koen Station is famous as one of the best spots for a stunning vista. Red leaves are beautiful in fall and it’s something you can’t miss along with the fresh green in early summer. In winter, skiing and soft rime can be enjoyed as well, there are many ways to have fun all year round.

Red carpet in autumn

The season of red leaves is too good to miss. From the end of September, the leaves begin changing color around the top of the mountain, from the beginning of October around the middle of the mountain, and from mid-October around the foot of the mountain. The peak is from the beginning to the end of October. The gorgeous view with red leaves beneath you is one of the enticements.

White and silver view of soft rime

From February to March, soft rime decorates the mountain. The beautiful and mysterious view is like art in white and silver. The big, soft rimes covered completely in snow are called “Snow Monsters.” The landscape covered with soft times as far as the eye can see is overwhelming.
