Gyokusendo is a limestone cave located in Okinawa World. It is a popular tourist spot in the south of Okinawa. It took 300 thousand years for this limestone cave to be formed. Measuring approx. 5 km long, there are about 37 types of stalactites in this cave. It is the biggest cave in Japan. In the area situated at 890 m, you will see more than one million stalactites. In fact, these limestones are still becoming 3 mm longer each year. Experience the mysterious atmosphere that is created by Mother Nature inside a cooling cave.

Inside Gyokusendo, there are 37 types of stalactites - the largest collection in Japan. You will see stalactites shaped like straws, curtains or even bacon. Surrounded by underground water and appearing like a dam, the cave looks mysteriously beautiful.

Although Gyokusendo measures 5 km, you can usually enter up to 890 m deep. Yet special tours are organized only from July to August to exploit the rest of 4000 m of the cave. It would be a great adventure to explore the restricted area.
