Fukuoka Tower

Fukuoka Tower is the tallest seaside tower in Japan which measures 234 meters. The tower is a symbol of the city of Fukuoka, and the 8,000 one-way mirrors brilliantly reflect the sun's rays. From the 123-meter-high observation deck at the top of the tower, a stunning panoramic view of Genkai Sea can be seen. The tower is a triangular, prism-shaped building, and it has the city emblem of Fukuoka on the top. When the tower is lit up during an illumination event, it adds an extra brilliance to the night view of Fukuoka. There is a restaurant and a sky lounge, both with spectacular views. There are also various shops in the tower.

Observation Deck

A 70-second elevator ride will take you to the 123-meter-high observation deck. From there, you can see the biggest business district in Kyushu including Hakata Station to the east and Kaihin Park waterfront area to the west. The mountains and a beautiful cityscape of Fukuoka are visible to the south. To the north, you can see Hakata Bay in the horizon. The night view from the deck is also stunning.

Momochi Seaside Park is a man-made beach that lies to the north of the Fukuoka Tower. It is located in the vicinity of the Fukuoka City Public Library, Fukuoka City Museum, and the Fukuoka Yafuoku Dome. In the center of the beach, there is a beach resort called Marizon. Locals and visitors alike enjoy sports here such as beach volleyball and beach soccer. At night, you will enjoy the beautiful cityscape reflected in the surface of the ocean. It is one of the most popular dating spots in Fukuoka whether day and night.

Marizon

Located in the Momochi Seaside Park, Marizon is a resort that has restaurants, cafes and shops on a deck floating on the ocean. People visit here to sunbathe or take a walk with their pets. The high-speed ferry boats leave from here to the Umino-nakamichi Seaside Park. It is a base for marine activities. We recommend that you carry your swimsuit with you during the summer months. You will feel refreshed here by the surrounding ocean.

High-speed Ferry Uminaka Line

The Uminaka Line is a high-speed ferry that departs from the Marizon resort, and connects Momochi and Umino-nakamichi. A short 20-minute ferry ride will take you to the Umino-nakamichi, whereas it takes over an hour and a half by a train or a bus. The ferry has seats indoors, but how about catching the sea breeze on the deck in the sun.
