Botejyu can be regarded as the most famous long-standing chain of okonomiyaki restaurant in Osaka, which is the birthplace of okonomiyaki (savory pancake). This famous restaurant established the present basis of okonomiyaki such as using mayonnaise as a seasoning and using Chinese noodle for “Modern-yaki”. This unique name is a combination of two onomatopoeic words, “bote” made when turning over okonomiyaki on the plate, and “jyu” made when grilling okonomiyaki with a savory aroma. They have served the changeless deliciousness for a long time as the first originator of okonomiyaki in Osaka.
