Azumaya is a long-standing Japanese restaurant established in 1907. It is famous for its Wanko-soba (buckwheat noodles), a local specialty of Iwate Prefecture. Not to mention its exquisite taste, it is also highly entertaining for tourists that the servers stand by the customers and quickly refill their bowl as soon as it is emptied. It is a unique experience you can’t miss when you come to Iwate. With a traditional, Japanese-style interior, it is a spacious restaurant which has both table seats and tatami seats. They even issue a certificate that shows how many bowls you ate.
