Asakusa Naniwaya

(Source : )
A store famous for taiyaki (fish-shaped, stuffed sweet bean pancakes), this is a franchise belonging to the flagship store Azabujuban Naniwaya known to be the origin of taiyaki. The crispy crust and sweet red bean paste with a subtle sweetness will melt in your mouth. There is also a diverse menu with Japanese sweets like anmitsu (combination of agar jelly, bean paste, ice cream and other goodies) and mitsumame (mixture of boiled beans, agar, fruit and syrup) and dishes like yakisoba (stir-fried noodles) and Japanese curry udon (thick noodles). Among these, the ice cold and fluffy shaved ice has become a specialty of this store.

Passing on the traditional taste of over 100 years

The taiyaki, whose taste has been passed on through history, tastes exactly as it did when the store first opened in 1909. As the azuki beans from Hokkaido are thoroughly cooked and then wrapped in a thin dough, it has an exquisite flavor and texture.
