Skilled artisans engrave designs similar to that of woodblock with prints depicting an original Japanese painting or Nanga (type of Japanese painting with roots in China). They dye the soft towels using a unique technique called chusen. A huge collection of elaborately crafted towels are displayed in the shop.
Printed towels start from 1,188 yen. The popular patterns of towels are kabuki kumadori, which is a kabuki actor's makeup, scenes from Kabuki plays, and adorable cat motifs.
In addition to the towels, other items like wallets, purses and bags that are made with their towels are also available. They make customized cushions for the price of a towel plus 3,240 + yen. It takes about two weeks to finish, so order well in advance.
