Teahouse Tasukean

(Source : 茶房太助庵)
Situated at a 2-min walk from the famous tourist spot in Mie, Ise Jingu shrine, Teahouse Tasukean is a popular cafe, run by Senokuniya. "Senokuniya" is a fabrication company of rice cake, Kamiyomochi, which is one of the specialty of Ise. The building of this tea house is a renovated, old warehouse built in 1934. That is why it has a nostalgic atmosphere. Inside you can taste Japanese sweets, including "Kamiyomochi" and "zenzai (sweet red bean soup with rice cake)" and Ise tea from the Prefecture Mie. On top of that, you can also purchase souvenirs. I hope you will pass by when you visit Ise Jingu Shrine.
