(Source : 食べログ)
Situated a short walk from the metro Sakae station, Sugakiya New Sakae B2 store is one of the franchised ramen stores that have been popular among not only locals but also travelers as one of the most famous ramen places in Nagoya city. Founded in 1946, the secret of Sugakiya, a franchise based in Aichi prefecture with more than 380 branches all over Japan, is the reasonable price. You can enjoy a bowl of ramen from 320 yen. Sugakiya opened as a Kanmidokoro, traditional Japanese sweets café at first and it still keeps its tradition. Other than ramen, there are also many desert menus such as ice cream and zenzai, sweet red bean soup.

Light soup for every age

The most popular menu is the classic ramen at the attractive and reasonable price of 320 yen. They use tonkostu soup (pork bone broth) which is usually heavy and greasy, but the combination with Japanese broth makes the broth much lighter and it is popular among a wide range of age groups.

One of the popular menus is Hiyashi Ramen (510 yen) which you can have only during summer. You will enjoy the chewy texture of noodles made possible by rinsing with cold water which are really smooth as you swallow.
