This restaurant is located inside the prestigious zen temple Nanzenji and is a renowned yudofu restaurant with a history of 370 years. Yudofu is a healthy Japanese dish in which tofu is simmered in hot water, and it is told that this restaurant was the first to serve it. The menu only contains one yudofu course and you can enjoy different ways to savor the deliciousness of tofu. Both the inside and outside of the restaurant has a quiet atmosphere and conveys the tradition and history of Kyoto. Here, you can dine quietly while looking at a Japanese garden.

Specialty Yudofu

The tofu used for the yudofu is made in the old traditional method using only groundwater and carefully selected soybeans. It is their specialty tofu, which has a firm texture and allows you to enjoy the flavor of soy in a simple way.

Full Tofu Course - Yudofu Hitotori

The only item on the menu is a course called Yudofu Hitotori (yudofu combination). It includes yudofu, tofu with sesame inside, tororo (grated yam) soup, kinomedengaku - tofu grilled in miso, vegetable tempura, rice and miso soup. While it is tofu-filled and healthy, the volume is pretty satisfying.
