Ryujin Ootsuri Bridge

Ryujin Ootsuri bridge, spanning 375-meters, is one of the largest pedestrian suspension bridges in Japan, located in Okukuji Natural Park. The bridge is located 100 meters above the beautiful winding Ryujin River. You may feel weak at the knees when you look down from the bridge. It is surrounded by rich nature of Okukuji, and your eyes will catch a magnificent view while walking on the bridge. Panoramic view has different appearances depending on the season, and fall with red leaves is most recommended.

The highlights of Ryujin Ootsuri bridge are the amazing landscapes of every season including many flying Koinobori, carp streamers, in spring and deep red leaves covering the mountains in fall. If you have enough courage, look down from the bridge. You can see clear Ryujin river which runs in the valley and the small Ryujin Dam.

Design of the bridge

Let’s take a look at the design of the bridge. Ryujin means the God of Dragon in English, so the pillar has a motif of a dragon flying in the sky. Between the pillar, the wall painting of the dragon in a spectacular design can be seen.
