Rokkatei is a café operated by a locally-renowned, long-established confectionary shop with a history starting 1933. The shop sells sweets on the first floor and runs a café on the second floor. Rokkatei is the first company to have produced and sold white chocolate in Japan. Marusei Butter Sand (5 pieces for 600 yen), butter cream sandwich cookies with raisins was released in 1977 and became a big sales hit. Rokattei has been producing sweets inspired by Hokkaido using snow as a motif and local ingredients and has been attracting many fans from all over Japan as well as locals.
