Tenshukaku
Tenshukaku is the tallest building in Osaka Castle with eight floors. From the observation deck on the highest floor, you can see all of Osaka. It is also lit up at night and you can enjoy a fantastic and beautiful appearance of the castle.

Inside the Tenshukaku
From the second to the seventh floor of the Tenshukaku is a museum where articles related with Toyotomi Hideyoshi and Osaka Castle and dioramas are exhibited. There is also a movie room. A golden tearoom, interesting articles such as replicas of headgear of many warlords and replicas of Shachihoko, the decorative twin fish on the roof top of the castle, are displayed.

Osaka Natsu-no-Jinzu Byobu
On the fifth floor, Osaka Natsu-no-Jin Byobu is exhibited. The painting depicting the battle between Toyotomi military and Tokugawa military in 1615 called “The Siege of Osaka” with miniature dolls is used to recreate the historical scene. In this painting, farmers running away from the war are explicitly illustrated and miniature dolls with different poses and faces makes you feel as if you are on the battlefield.

From the observation deck on the eighth floor, you can look out over the city of Osaka and get a 360-degree view. The greenery in Osaka Park is beautiful, and you can see the moat and the buildings of the castle as well as many skyscrapers and mountains in the distance. We recommend that you visit when cherry blossoms bloom.

Nishinomaru-Teien garden is a famous prime spot for viewing cherry blossoms. There are 600 Japanese “Somei yoshino” cherry trees and many tourists visit this garden every spring which is the best season. Since the garden is lit up at night, this is a neat spot for a date.
