Founded in 1877, it's the only national museum of integrated science in Japan. There is a Japan Gallery and Global Gallery, which have about 4,210,000 pieces of valuable specimens and documents stored or exhibited. Through this exhibition based on evolution, you can learn where you came from and your roots as a human being as easy-to-understand explanations are provided. Anybody from children to adults, those who inclined towards the arts or sciences can enjoy learning with fun. That's the National Museum of Nature and Science!

Japan Gallery

Japan Gallery introduces how the land of Japan was formed, where Japanese people come from, and the diversity of nature and living creatures because of the archipelago that stretches from the north to south.

Global Gallery

Global Gallery has exhibits the history of science and technology developments as well as introduces the evolution of human beings and other living beings born on the earth. Resting areas, a museum shop, and a cafe and restaurant are also available.

Dynamic Fossil Animals

Here, you can gaze at the best collection of impressive, dynamic dinosaur fossils. The life-like fossil figures are a must-see. Not only fossil dinosaurs but also coelacanth and mammoth fossils are exhibited. A dramatic experience as you see and experience primitive times!
