Mt. Sarakura Observation Deck

Mt. Sarakura Observation Deck

This is the observation deck located on the peak of Mt. Sarakura at 622 meter above sea level. From the nearest station, you can get here in about 10 minutes by cable car and slope car. You can get a panoramic view of Kita-Kyushu city in the daytime, and at night, you can enjoy the night view which is counted in “New Three Major Night Views of Japan.” At the deck located on the 1st floor of the observation deck, they created starry sky by stones that glow in the dark.  From the glass-sided slope car, you can see the 360-degrees landscape. At the peak of the mountain, there is “Sarakura-yama Tenbo-dai Restaurant,” a restaurant which located in the highest place in north Kyushu.

A night view which is counted in “New Three Major Night Views of Japan”

The largest highlight of Mt. Sarakura is the night view. The panoramic night view of over 200 degrees is designated as the “New Three Major Night Views of Japan.” There is a sign that says “The 10-billion dollar night view,” and this scenic view deserves it.

Cable car, longest in western Japan, made in Switzerland

This is the longest cable car in western Japan. It runs 1 kilometer from Sanroku Station to the peak, 440 meter above sea level in 5 minutes. From the glass-sided window, you can enjoy a magnificent panoramic view while you are going up Mt. Sarakura. The cable car also runs at night depending on the season.

Slope car, you can enjoy a 360-degree landscape

The slope car, which takes you to the peak after riding a cable car, has glass walls on every sides. This is a great view spot where you can enjoy Kita-Kyushu city in 360 degrees. The view during the day and at night is totally different.
