Lake Chuzenji

Lake Chuzenji in Nikko, Tochigi prefecture is a large lake with a 25 km circumference, located inside Nikko National Park. In the middle of Mt. Nantai on the north shore of Lake Chuzenji, there is a shrine called Futarasan Shrine Chugushi. In this honorable shrine, which possesses many historical buildings that are registered as important cultural heritages, deities of matchmaking as well as fortune and prosperous business are worshiped and it is also known as a power spot.

Italian Embassy's House Memorial Park

This building, which was built in 1928 and used as the Italian embassy's vacation house until 1997, is opened to the public as a park. It also has a rest space for having coffee and makes a great spot to relax in between a walk.

Nikko Kanaya Hotel

The origin of Nikko Kanaya Hotel goes back to 1873, when it opened as an accommodation specifically aimed at foreigners. It is the oldest remaining classic resort hotel in Japan and both its main hall as well as the new hall are registered as tangible cultural heritages, incorporating many tasteful spaces over 100 years old.

Chuzenji Onsen

From JR Nikko or Tobu Nikko Station, take bus towards Chuzenji Onsen or Yumoto Onsen for 45 min, get off at Chuzenji Onsen and walk 1 min.
