The Kyo Hayashiya is a sweets cafe that is produced by a long standing tea house in Kyoto that boasts a history of over 260 years since its foundation. Starting with Japanese teas like matcha (powdered green tea) and hoji-cha (roasted green tea) you can also enjoy others like black tea, Chinese tea, and herb tea at this tea specialty tea store that deals with teas from all over the world in addition to offering a varied sweets menu. Here, you can find sweets like parfait, shaved ice, and of course, classic Japanese sweets like anmitsu bean jam in addition to a food menu that includes dishes like tea soba buckwheat noodles and zosui rice porridge. In the shop are also many souvenirs for sale. The shop is located on the 6F where you can spend time watching the beautiful views of the Kamogawa River from window seats.

The “matcha warabi mochi” (green tea bracken-starch dumplings) (750 yen) is Kyo Hayashi’s representative dish on the food menu.
