Japanese Cuisine Kawanami is a Japanese restaurant serves homegrown vegetables on handmade plates. The owner wishes to introduce local vegetables in Nara Prefecture, “Yamato Yasai” to more people. So the dishes served here in this restaurant are cooked with various organic vegetables grown in the owner’s farm. The owner grows as many as 50 kinds of organic vegetables and 8 kinds of mushrooms and prepares delicious dishes using them. You can enjoy the authentic taste of each ingredient.

The owner takes pride in the soil and the homemade fertilizer used to grow vegetables. On top of those vegetables, everything used here is fresh and authentic. Fresh rice, homemade miso and sauce, and the eggs are the ones laid each morning.

The main dish here in Kawanami is “Farm Dish” course which menu is decided on the harvest of that day. There are three kinds for this course, including “Sankai” (6,480 yen, tax included), the dishes using homegrown vegetables, fish, and local chicken. The fish caught in the shore is kept in the special water tank until it is cooked. Even the vegetables to decorate sashimi are harvested in the morning of the day.
