The only aquarium in Yamagata prefecture Tsuruoka Shiritsu Kamo Suizokukan specializes in jellyfish and is often referred to as Jellyfish Dream Aquarium, a nickname. More than 50 kinds of jellyfish are exhibited here, which is number one in the world. To see floating colorful jellyfish is relaxing and allows you to indulge in a fantastic feeling. They also hold educational and experiential programs such as a sea lion show, black-tailed gull feeding and study class of jellyfish. This aquarium can be enjoyed by people of all ages from kids to adults.

Jellyfish Dream Theater: a water tank that has a diameter of 5 meters

In the world-class water tank that has a diameter of 5 meters called Jellyfish Dream Theater, about 10,000 aurelias are floating. Aurelia has a characteristic where they transform their shape even with slight changes in the water stream. Each jellyfish is tiny, but you will be overwhelmed by the number and you won’t be able to look away.
