Hieizan (Mt. Hiei)

The trees on Mt. Hiei wear their fall colors earlier than in the flat lands. The Momiji Matsuri (Maple Festival) is held in the Yokokawa River region where dazzling autumn colors can be seen. You can also approach the summit of Hieizan on the Hieizan Driveway. From this winding road , a beautiful view of the city of Otsu and Lake Biwa will appear in front of your eyes.
