Nagaoka Matsuri fireworks festival

Nagaoka Matsuri originally started soon after the war as a memorial event for those who lost their lives in the firebombing of Nagaoka and to pray for the recovery of the injured. It has developed into a huge event and is counted as one of the three biggest fireworks festivals in Japan. An English guide book is also available.
