Fujiko・F・Fujio Hometown Art Gallery

Situated on the second floor of Takaoka Art Museum, Fujiko・F・Fujio Hometown Art Gallery in Takaoka city exhibit works of the famous manga artist Fujiko F Fujio, creator of the world famous manga Doraemon. Since Fujiko F Fujio spent his childhood in Takaoka, this museum was built in 2015. You can see rare drawings by Fujiko F Fujio, in addition to his childhood belongings. In front of Takaoka Station, a bronze statue of a popular character, Doraemon, is located. You can also visit the park where "akichi (vacant land)" of Doraemon is reproduced. You can see many things related to Doraemon here.

Drawings of famous manga

As you enter from the entrance modeled after "Dokodemo Door" - a famous item of Doraemon - you will see the exhibition room where rare articles are preserved. Here, belongings and several drawings of famous pieces of Fujiko F Fujio are displayed. You shouldn't miss a statue of Doraemon made of copper, which is a traditional local industry in Takaoka!

At Manga Library, you can read many famous manga of Fujiko F Fujio. In addition to the most famous work Doraemon, we recommend you to read other manga such as "Perman" and "Kiteretsu Daihhyakka."

Takaoka Otogi no Mori Park

Doraemon Tram

On Manyo Line that runs in Takaoka, there are eight "Doraemon Tram" trains a day that run between Takaoka Station and Koshinokata in Imizu city. You can easily notice it as it stands out as a blue-colored train with red bow-tie. Characters of Doraemon flying with Takecopter are drawn inside the train. You can enjoy a ride in the world of Doraemon.
