Cape Manzamo

(Source : )
Cape Manzamo is a place noted for its superb views located in Onna village in the northern part of the main island of Okinawa. The grassy plain is so spacious and beautiful that you might feel like sitting there forever. It is said that the King of Ryukyu Kingdom referred to the grassy plain as being big enough for 10,000 people. The Manzamo cliff has a great view of the clear Okinawan Sea. The limestone cliff also has a popular spot, a rock shaped like an elephant’s trunk which was formed when a coral reef rose. These beautiful views can be enjoyed as great photo shooting spots.

Great Viewing Spot on a Cliff

Manzamo is located on top of a steep cliff with a height of about 20 meters. It has a great view of the blue Okinawan Sea. The clarity of the water of the sea is so high that you can see rocks in the water or even fish shadows if you look carefully. The sunset here is bright and magnificent.

Beautiful Grassy Plain

It is widely known that the name “Manzamo” came from the words of the King of Ryukyu Kingdom, “this plain is spacious enough for 10,000 people to sit on”. There is a walking path that visitors can enjoy in this beautiful grassy plain. Don’t miss some rare plants you can only see here.
