Sakura Collection 2022 at Starbucks Japan

It's that time of the year where you see everything sakura. Every year, Starbucks in Japan ensures it celebrates the glory of cherry blossoms in spring. This year too, Starbucks has released a range of products and drinks featuring the pretty pink flowers.

Sakura Strawberry Shiratama Frappuccino

Let's take a look at the beverages first. The special drink of this year's cherry blossom season is Sakura Strawberry Shiratama Frappuccino.

We ordered a takeaway as the drink comes in a special sakure-themed cup.

A milky Frappuccino with cherry blossom and strawberry flavored sauce, it is topped with whipped cream and pink shaved chocolate. Looks like Sakura petals!

It also has shiratama, a chewy, dumpling-shaped rice cake, adding a beautiful Japanese touch. But the best part is the addition of Yatsuhashi, a Japanese sweet made from rice flour in the most gentle pink.

Sakura Saita Milk Latte

Let's take a look at another cherry blossom limited drink, Sakura Saita Milk Latte (Saita means blooming).

Whether you have it in-store or takeout, you can enjoy the beauty of a handcrafted cherry tree in bloom in the form of latte art.

It is created using chocolate sauce for the trunk and chocolate chips for the the cherry blossoms.

Interestingly, this year, customers can also experience their favorite cherry blossom season with the Sakura AR Experience. All you have to do is scan the QR codes available on products, drink cups or receipts and wait for the magic.

That's right, it turns out that Starbucks' mascot, Bearista, will appear in four different patterns. The one below is him carrying a doughnut,

and here he is playing with balloons.

You can scan several times and take interesting photos.

Cherry Blossom Goods

Every year, Starbucks releases the most gorgeous memorabilia featuring sakura. You have a range of cutesy mugs, cups, bottles, bags and so on. Feels like spring, doesn't it?

Cherry blossoms have started to bloom in different parts of Japan. Hopefully you can enjoy them soon in Japan with a Starbucks drink in your hand.
