With the beginning of summer, you can enjoy the sight of hydrangea (ajisai in Japanese) all over Japan. One of the popular spots in Tokyo is the amusement and theme park, Toshimaen, in Nerima ward. Hydrangea start blooming from around the end of May and the flowers can be seen till the end of June.
Over 10,000 flowering trees of 150 species bloom throughout Toshima. You can ride a mini train to enjoy this view in the park: ideal for those with kids!
Your eyes can feast on hydrangea in hues of purple and pink.
As the sun sets, the park is lit up and you can enjoy a different view of these beautiful summer flowers.
