Yamanote Line service will be partially suspended on November 16 (Tokyo)

The easiest and most popular way to get around Tokyo is using the circular loop train line known as the Yamanote Line (山手) or commonly known as the Green Line. Most popular sightseeing spots can be covered only by taking this line.
It was recently announced by the Japan Railways that the Yamanote Line will be partially suspended on November 16, 2019 between Ueno and Osaki station. It is said to be suspended due to the track construction work for Takanawa Gateway Station, which is scheduled to open in spring 2020.

Services will be suspended between Ueno Station and Osaki Station from the first train on Saturday, November 16, 2019.

The Keihin Tohoku Line (京浜東北線, Blue line), which stops at the same stations as the Yamanote Line between Tabata and Shinagawa will also stop operations between Shinagawa and Tamachi. It is said that other train services will increase on this day. Please make sure to check other train routes to your hotels or sightseeing locations in advance for November 16!
