Next-level safety precautions: Only in Japan!

The Tokyo Skytree has recently started the Skytree Terrace Tours, which are conducted on an open-air viewing gallery at a height of 155 m.
What really caught our attention was the amount of detail and preparation to make sure you are safe! Other than placing everything including your coat, jewelry, bag into the locker, which is standard, there are a ton of other things you're expected to follow.
First you choose a plastic cover for your camera. There are four to five types for various camera sizes! You also get a plastic pouch for your phone. During the tour, you are not allowed to take your devices out of this pouch due to fear of dropping them.
We had a DSLR but to be honest, it's really difficult to click photos as the plastic results in blurring your pictures and its difficult to click the shutter button. You're better off with just your smartphone!
Next, you choose one of these colorful helmets!
Followed by picking one of these safety vests. The vest and camera/phone straps are tied together.
In the cold winter months, you get to wear these special winter safety jackets!
If you're wearing sandals, heels, slip-ons, you might be asked to wear these sneakers to avoid slipping or dropping your shoe. If you see this video at the Skytree Terrace, you will understand why so much care has been taken!

Your safety comes first and even though this might seem tedious, we personally loved the colorful gear! You can't help but appreciate the efforts put in for your safety. So how about enjoying this unique experience only at the Tokyo Skytree?
