Get rid of your Monday blues with these sleepy cats
We visited a new cat cafe, EDO CAT CAFE, recently opened close to the Edo Tokyo Museum in Ryogoku, Tokyo.
Cat cafes and other animal cafes have been around for a while in Japan. What makes this one special?
The highlight of this cafe is the Edo atmosphere. Every point is a photo shoot with the cats!
The interiors of this temporary cat cafe replicate various images from Japan's woodblock prints.
Other than geisha, samurai and Mt. Fuji, cats also featured prominently in beautiful prints. The space is created such that cats are freely roam about and even get in a bit of exercise.
The best part...a part of the income will directly be donated to organizations that deal with stray cats! So even if you are against the idea of animal cafes, this is a good reason to visit one!
Since the cats were unbelievably adorable, we decided to do a "sleepy" cat feature too.
It's like a sleeping hub!
Cats licking themselves and falling asleep while onlookers pass by.
So comfortable and cozy!
This one seems to have a tough time falling asleep!
While this one could sleep anywhere!
This blue ball of wool seems to do the magic and put cats to sleep.
Each one finding their sleeping spots.
This one wants to be away from the limelight ;)
This café is open until 31st of August 2018.
If you're visiting Tokyo with kids, this is a great friendly place: EDO CAT CAFE.
