Visual treats at HANABAR in Ikebukuro, Tokyo!

Just keeping flowers on your desk gives you joy, right? The feel of a room changes instantly! That's the power of flowers. Keeping this in mind, HANABAR in Ikebukuro, Tokyo, has created a concept cafe where you can not only see and smell flowers but also eat them. Here you can truly spend time in the presence of flowers!

The charm of dry flowers at HANABAR

Taniku Hammock is a brand that specializes in dry flowers, which was created to bring flowers closer to everyday life. Why did the owner use dry and not fresh flowers? Mainly because fresh ones last only for a week or so, why dry ones can be used for much longer.
Up until now, Taniku Hammock didn't really have a store and displayed their creations in exhibitions or other stores. In order to promote dry flowers further HANABAR was opened in October 2017.

Everything handmade

From the walls to the tables, everything is set up by the owners.

Plenty of dry flowers

At the entrance, within the store - everything you see is made by Taniku Hammock.
You can also buy most of the flowers displayed in the store. Sometimes, these can be sold out and it takes about 2 weeks in case of orders. Magnets made using dry flowers are great as souvenirs.
If you're interested in making your own dry flowers, you can consult the owners when you visit.

Edible flowers

Let your taste buds enjoy flowers too!! At HANABAR, you can try a variety of cocktails that have flowers in them. Optimist: a cocktail made with three types of berries and citrus
How cute is this? Pop'n Peach: a strange blend of peach and popcorn
A new cocktail with the weird combination of popcorn and peach. As strange as it sounds, you'll end up sipping it more than you'd think. Trang Till Mont: a short cocktail made using Darjeeling, muscat and hazelnuts
This is also a new drink on the menu! The pansy is edible too.
You can also request for non-alcoholic cocktails! So how about spending a lazy evening in this beautiful cafe?!?
