Yoshinogari Site

Yoshinogari site has Japan's biggest remains that were found at Yoshinogari hills in Saga in 1986. It is chosen as Japan's important historical site. The remains of the village from 4th century B.C. to 3rd century A.D. was found in a more or less 50-hectare area. The artifacts, that were also found at this site, are recognized as Japan's important cultural property. Therefore, you can see many precious articles and documents to understand history of ancient Japan here in Yoshinogari site. Now, it has became a national historical park called Yoshinogari Historical Park, which is maintained by the government, as a place to learn and to experience ancient Japan.

Take a nice walk inside the Yoshinogari Historical Park

There are three zones inside the approx. 117 hectare park: The Ancient Forest Zone, The Ancient Field Zone, and Moat Encircled Village Zone. In each area, you can see the landscape and buildings of the ancient Japan. On top of that, coffins that were found at this site have also been reconstructed.

Interactive Workshops in the park

There are many interactive workshops in the park such as making Magatama (the armors in the ancient Japan), earth flute or burning a fire using ancient methods. Why don't you experience the life of ancient Japan by participating in these workshops?
