Jamon-sugi is along the 150 min course in Yakusugi Land. It is a Yakusugi with a 8.3 m of root width, 23.6 m height, and 2,000 years of tree age. The name is after its wooden surface which looks like a snake. This tree crashed in a typhoon in 1997 and its roots have been bared.
Buddha-sugi has a strange shape with many bumps and its trunk is empty and rolling. It is also called as "Shaka-sugi" as the many bumps remind us of Buddha. The tree age is said to be 1,800 years old.
You can go through under this "Kuguri-sugi" whose roots surge from the ground to all directions. The trail road itself is under this tree. There were originally two sugi trees but it is said that the one on the top fell down onto another and they found themselves merged into one tree.
