Tokashiki Island

This is the largest island within the Kerama archipelago surrounded by world-class transparent waters. The surrounding has about 10 uninhabited islands in an astonishingly transparent ocean that is around 50 to 60 meters deep called the "Kerama blue." Seeking this beautiful ocean, many people from all over the country, mainly divers, come to visit this island. Also, about 250 species of coral live here, which is 60% of all species found in Japan. It is a remote island of Okinawa with abundant nature.

The beauty of Tokashiki's ocean lets you forget that this is Japan. Time passes very slowly as you gaze into the dreamingly transparent "Kerama blue" ocean.

Go to Aharen Beach to See Kerama Blue

A beautiful beach with a white sandy shore that goes on for 800 meters along the community. In front, there is the uninhabited island Hanare-jima. Not to mention the beauty of the ocean, it's a perfect spot for snorkeling. Once you go over to Hanare-jima, the blue of the ocean gets even more intense and the amount of fish as well.

Great for Diving: Tokashiku Beach

This white sandy beach in an about 800-meter arch is relatively empty compared to Aharen beach because there is no accommodation in the area. Here, you can experience trial Scuba diving and see an absolutely beautiful world of the transparent ocean, its color and many types of fish.

Treasure Chest of Corals

In Tokashiki, there are 250 coral species living, which is 60% of all species found in Japan. The colonies of coral are absolutely stunning and definitely something to see even if you are not a diver. The island has an association for the protection of coral and has been protecting its beautiful heritage with their own efforts.
