Tappizaki todai, a lighthouse, is a guardian of ships that go across the Tsugaru Strait. If it is sunny, you can see Hirosaki peninsula, Hokkaido, 20 km away across Tsugaru Strait. Since it is standing on a hill, the lighthouse is not very tall, but it is selected as Japan’s Top 50 lighthouses for its beauty.

In Tappizaki, there is a statue with the engraving of lyrics to the famous Japanese song “Tsugaru-kaikyo Fuyugeshiki.” Since the name appear in the lyrics, Tappizaki is well known as a related place to the song. When you push the button on the statue, you can listen to Tsugaru-kaikyo Fuyugeshiki performed by Ishikawa Sayuri, a Japanese Enka singer.

Tappizaki Seaside Park is a camping site in front of the sea. There is a tent site, 3 cabins for 4 people, 3 cabins for 6 people and 4 bungalows for 4 people. In the main building, there are shower rooms and washrooms. This is the accommodation where you can walk along the sea and go fishing.
