Shimonoseki Kaikyokan

Shimonoseki Kaikyokan is a museum that exhibits the sea life in Shimonoseki such as a tank that replicates the whirlpools in the Kanmon Straits, the display of pufferfish from all over the world, and the full skeleton of a blue whale. 2,400 tons of water is contained in 65 tanks that keeps 20,000 sea creatures of 500 kinds. You can never get bored of this place no matter how many times you go. You can also enjoy the sea lions’ shows and watching porpoises blow bubble rings. They also have the interactive activities like a theme park such as the touching pool and the virtual museum.
