Robata

Located near Kushiro’s famous sightseeing spot of Nusumai Bridge is the long-standing restaurant of Robata that boasts over a half-century of business specializing in robata-yaki style barbecue. Robata-yaki which is where seafood and vegetables are cooked over a robata (on the edge of a traditional Japanese irori fireplace) is said to have originated in the city of Kushiro where over 100 specialty restaurants can be found. Of all of these, Robata is one of the most well-known. This famous restaurant is proud of its robata-yaki that uses fresh local seafood from Kushiro which is proud of its reputation as one of the prominent providers of seafood in the whole country.

The menme which is known for its large amount of delicious fat and plump meat is cooked to perfection over the charcoal of the robata fire making its skin crispy and inside soft.
